Description: This layer shows catch basin locations, provides normal and depressed flow elevation information, and who is in responsible for maintaining the structure, either the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, Caltrans or private.Storm water is collected through a catch basin to prevent flooding in streets and redirect the storm water into the storm drainpipe system. Catch basins are openings along curbs with grates to prevent debris into the water.

Also, lists who is responsible for maintaining that structure, either the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, Caltrans or private. Structures: Junction Box: structures that interconnect pipes of different sizes or for a change-in directionDrop Inlet: an in-ground structure that collects storm water into the storm drain system Gate Valve: are used to turn on or shut off the flow of storm water Dry Well: a dried-up well that is used for draining storm water Cleanout: a vertical pipe with a removable cap that is used for maintenance
